The Yonkers Humane Society depends on donations from the community to keep its programs running. Any donations that the YHS does not have much use for (such as dog food), is then taken to the Yonkers Animal Shelter. Trust us, every bit the community gives us goes to the animals! Some of our current needs include:
- Wet food (our Petsmart cats really love Fancy Feast souffles!)
- Pine litter
- Catnip toys
- Cat beds
- Scratching posts
- Gift cards to Petsmart
- Gift cards to Staples (for office supplies and newsletter printing)
And, of course, we always welcome monetary donations. In the past, donors have helped fund things such as pet oxygen masks for the Yonkers Fire Department to use in rescues, as well as rewards towards the apprehension of animal abusers. Checks and cash can be sent to:
